Presentation by Sam Harrell about the current state of incarceration in the United States and Critical Resistance’s theory and strategy for abolition and ways of responding to harm. Sam is a member of the Portland chapter of Critical Resistance which coordinates the Prisoner Correspondence Program. Sam is a doctoral student in social work studying the relationship between social work, abolition, and transformative justice.

Join us to learn the story and to explore what the dream became today. Colleen Schafroth is Executive Director at the Museum. She has over 30 years’ experience in museums and the arts. Schafroth holds a B.A. in English and in Art as well as a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies.
