Or is this an expression of the decade-long effort to construct a regional anti-Iranian coalition? Joel Beinin is Professor of History emeritus at Stanford University. His research focuses on the social and cultural history of the Middle East. He taught at Stanford from 1983 to 2019. He is the author of a number books and scholarly articles on the Middle East.

Jeff Seward provides us with a review of what happened in the 2020 election and its implications for the future quality of democracy in the U.S. Jeff has a Ph.D from Stanford. He has had a career in public television as a political reporter, news anchor, and film producer. He is currently a professor in the Department of Politics and Government at Pacific University. He gave his first presentation for HGP in 2007. This is his 15th appearance at HGP.
