About This Program
From FH. An introduction to Einstein’s Theory of Relativity has implications for our understanding of space and time, but Todd Duncan will also guide us through the thought process that leads to these surprising insights–engaging mindfully with paradox as a way to revise our understanding. This process is useful even beyond physics, and provides a valuable template for gaining clarity about many puzzles and challenges we encounter in life. Professor Duncan (Pacific University) was recognized by the Oregon Academy of Sciences as an Outstanding Educator in Science & Mathematics, and his focus is on helping to make physics and astronomy accessible and relevant to everyone. (First Sundays start with 1/2 hour of music, offer childcare, and may run until noon.)
