A tribute to long time member Carolyn Tomei

Recently the HGP members took the time at the beginning of their meeting to honor long-time member Carolyn Tomei, who has recently celebrated her ninetieth birthday. Carolyn has hosted the monthly women’s brunch for decades, first in person in her beautiful home by the Willamette River and then on zoom. She encouraged women to bring their questions and insights to lively discussions of everything from politics to personal growth. She has also been active in Oregon politics since first becoming mayor of Milwaukie and then serving in the Oregon legislature as a voice for the underserved, advancing humanist values in many areas.
