Humanism, as a philosophy, has its roots in the ancient world.  It continues to make significant contributions to the quality of human life, keeping pace with modern technology while remaining rooted in “golden rule” style morals.

HGP is a chapter of the American Humanist Association.  We are a secular group for those who seek improvement in this life by:
  1. applying reason, science, and free inquiry to solving human problems;
  2. advocating freedom, happiness, and progress for all humanity;
  3. using the democratic process to seek justice and fairness in all societies;
  4. supporting moral principles that have been validated by consequences;
  5. accepting kinship with the natural world;
  6. holding humans responsible for human destiny;
  7. seeking natural rather than supernatural explanations.

HGP is a friendly organization where people who share these values can learn, explore, help, and play together.
